@very-rusty saidI already said that pages ago
Mainly for Gambrel:
Are sardines gutted before being canned?
Sardines before they go into the can
Sardines are canned by one of two methods; Mediterranean or Norwegian. In the Norwegian method the sardines are held alive until their guts are empty. They are then smoked before being beheaded. In the Mediterranean method they are beheaded and gutted.

You run at your own speed
@gambrel saidOurs have no heads on them so probably Mediterranean style. No poop in them either. 🙂 You're just eating the wrong kind of Sardines or not eating them which ever the case might be. I practically grew up on them. My father and I would sit at a hole on the ice of hours he would jig a pail full to my 2 or3 but it was fun. We took them home and my mother would fry them. Of course they are called smelts at this point. 🙂 Probably a little bigger than the sardine would be.
None, I said nope, that means no.
Google do sardines still have guts in them. Most canned sardines sold here are Norwegian style
I'd bet meditaranian are larger

@contenchess saidWhen I used to fish we turned perch, sunfish, carp and suckers loose. We went mostly after trout, fewer bones, easy to clean and or fillet.
@Gambrel
When I go fishing and catch a sunfish I keep them and eat them and all other fisherman think I am disgusting 🤔
You need 3 or 4 to make a plate but they are tasty in my opinion.
Perch, sunfish are okay but too boney.
@very-rusty saidI'm a kid. I'm a Gramps?
Gambrel, Quickly reverts to his kid style of posting. Well done! 😛 😉

If I catch something I put it in the cooler and eat it later.
My city has a big shoreline fishing group that I might get into 🤔
@trev33 saidApparently the sunfish name covers a lot of different fish all over the world.
Did you know that a female sunfish can lay up to 300,000,000 eggs at a time.
I didn’t, just checked wiki, had never heard of that fish. Appears they can’t survives in waters less than 10c so we don’t have them in Ireland.
You're talking about an ocean sunfish.
@trev33 saidI do now! 🙂
