I've never needed to batch edit anything in PS before.
I've only ever used Bridge to get thumbnail previews of PSD files when I'm looking for stuff.
I might have 1500 photos from an event to process.
After converting from RAW to DNG...
First I batch rename using Bridge to a sequential number - yyyymmdd
Then I go through all the photos and rate them - first cut
Then I go through the rated images, and elevate some with a higher rating
Then I edit the images. Sometimes I have 5 shots of the same scene, so use Bridge to open them all in Adobe Camera Raw and synchronise the edits from 1 to the rest.
Once I have all of the images edited, I batch convert from DNG/PSD to jpg.
Before, I used to then batch create thumbnails and lores versions, using actions I've previously recorded in PS (by doing the selection in Bridge), but I'm after writing my own script in AutoIT now to do that using GDI+, which is better for me as it fits within a code generation script I created.
I also use Bridge for editing the Keywords metadata of photos, for later retrieval.
