There are people who remember where they were and what they were doing when they heard JFK had been killed. Others talk about when they heard John Lennon had died. I remember the moment I heard Diana was dead. I was shocked. I could barely believe it.
Im the same, remember hearing a news report that she had been in a crash but walked away, next morning turns out she had died. Other unforgettable moment was the twin towers bring hit, remember seeing the second plane hit thinking at first it was a repeat.

I remember when Florida was a State called as a victory for Al Gore, but then just an hour or two later, there was the very consequential reversal in favor of George Bush Jr.

I wonder if that can ever happen again. 🤔

That was the last American election I really paid attention to, went to sleep when they announced Florida had voted for Gore happy that Bush hasn't won. Woke up the next morning to a monumental wtf moment, anything after that can't be a surprise in American politics. Why can't Obama come back for another 8 years? Seems silly to have a cap like that, the orange won would never have been elected. Clinton vs Bush, maybe Clinton?

ANSWERS

Well that was interesting. Out of the first two posters one got them all right and one got them all wrong!

1.
The second best selling single of all time with 33 million sales is Elton John
with his 1997 reworking of "Candle in the Wind", without Princess Di's death the
answer would have been Mungo Jerry with "In the summertime" (30 million sales).

2.
Bobby Darin had the 1959 hit with “Mack the Knife” though I can picture Dean Martin doing it.

3.
Shockingly Garth Brooks has sold more albums than any other solo artist!
Only the Beatles have had more album sales.

4.
The lyrics from "Seven Seas of Rye" are by Queen
Their first hit and still one of their best.
