I did look up your quoted piece, but then I googled myself.
Find it hard to believe that a shuttlecock is faster than a golf ball off Rory Mc's driver, or several other items in sport.

The question was admittedly ambiguous but other wordings gave it away.
(e.g. sport with fastest projectile)
Having played table-tennis, badminton and squash at
reasonable level I'd say squash is the faster game!
Those ice-hockey pucks are quick too!
The thing with a shuttle-cock is that it slows down quickly,
the speeds quoted are for the instant it leaves racquet.
