No, a single IP address is not indicative of multiple accounts in itself. But, that said, it always does flag a potential problem, obviously.

I thought simply the xxx crew and littlejimjim were a family of not knowing the en passant rule.
I play only at work (no PC at home). We have here a lot of Computers. So, I guess I could easily open multiple accounts, each used with a seperate e-mail. Although, I do not see the point why I should do that.

ThePo and fernando had a combined amount of moves that totalled 48181. But looking at their stats, something puzzles me.
fernando J P Vasquez joined on the 27th of October 2001, and has made a total of 25539 moves since then.
ThePO joined on the 21st of January 2003, and has made 22642 moves since then.
That means that fernando J P Vasquez is a much slower mover. Shorely if they are the same person, fernando J P Vasquez would have made approx. 20000 moves in those first two years, before setting up his second account? Did he slow down to just 6000 moves in the last 2 years since setting up ThePo account? Just a thought...
Originally posted by zakkwylderThat would stand to reason, though fernando J P Vasquez won 2 games against Po, to Po's 1 win. The rest were drawn. I suspect they were in fact two people who shared an internet account but made a pact not to knock each other out of tournaments. They literally drew nearly every game!!
Perhaps he favored one over the other.
Originally posted by marinakatombI drew both of them in the same tournament and at the time I wondered a little.

Their opening choices are very similar (although I played the BDG and split them with that) and the style of play was almost indistinguishable.
Notice when they are in tournaments together they seem to play extremely slowly against each other and in the end their results seem to make sure both (if possible) of them go through.

Originally posted by marinakatombProbably there is an upper limit on moves one can play at that level? And maybe hejust fed ThePO with lower level players at first?

There are a lot of open question, where we will probably never learn the answer.
Originally posted by PonderableI'm not disputing the mods decision, it's just a little odd, that's all.

EDIT: Why wait two years to set up the second account?
Originally posted by XanthosNZYes, had a peak at some of the tournaments they were both in. They are both playing identical openings against the same players, it's too close a match to be two people!

Just a remark: both accounts were created before the TOS was created. And he paid for 2 stars. Nothing wrong so far - the money was happily accepted as well. Where it went wrong (I am confident that the mod's came to the right conclusion) was that the player
a) continued playing and starting new games with both accounts
b) even more so, to let both nicks play each other
