Come on Aquaman I noted that you guys spent a measly $1.5 million on a "Barge" so she could be oared (by 18 people) down the Thames. Hell we pay that for one of our Federal Ministers to fly around in a big jet for no disernable reason.The last barge built for the Royals was 100 years ago That's a paultry $15,000/annum, a small price to pay for a two hour (or so) ride.

I agree with both. I remember the mayor of Montreal, who's initials were Jean Drapeau, saying that there was more chance of him becoming pregnant than of the olympics held in Montreal costing the taxpayers anything. He was wrong with both predictions.

Saw the whole pageant on TV. ER2 and Dukey stood for over an hour (aged 86 and 90). Smiling the whole time. Quite imptressive.
