The reason the first church changed honouring the sabbath from the Friday/Saturday slot to Sunday was because Jesus was raised from the dead on Sunday. The Sunday service is in fact always a celebration of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Also if you are interested, read the book of Acts with reference to the days.
The Sabbath was and always will be on Saturday (Friday sundown till Saturday sundown). Just because the christian church has decided to call Sunday the Sabbath does not make it so. I wonder why the church thinks it is ok for them to change anything that they claim god created? Are they better than god? Is this an example of the traditions of men that jesus sp ...[text shortened]... The "tradition" would still be of god and NOT of man had the church not changed it.

No, I was kidding, and I do get your point. I just don't see anything good about a religion or a God that kills a man for blasphemy, or picking up sticks, or watering his camel, or cleaning his shoes, or however you want to define working on the sabbath.
Death seems rather extreme for violating God's word wouldn't you say? That's exactly the kind of rel ...[text shortened]... people to hijack planes and fly them into buildings.
That kind of God, I can do without.

I suppose people will always interpret the same facts differently. Just go to a court session to see this in action.

Note: I said to Feivel that after reading many of his posts, I do not get the impression that he is not that interested to listen to what other people say when he does not agree with them, rather he wants to argue.
My response was:
Jesus rose from the dead on the day after the Sabbath (see, e.g., Mark 16:1-2-"When the Sabbath was over…very early on the first day of the week"😉. The first day, namely Sunday, was the Day of Resurrection, and soon became the special day of worship. For example, see Acts 20, verse 7-"On the first day of the week when we gathered together"; 1 Corinthians 16:2-"On the first day of every week." The first day soon came to be known as "the Lord's Day" (see Revelation 1:10-"I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day." Thus the first day of the week may properly be called the Christian Sabbath.
I do not have spesific Bible references to the authority from God that Feivel wants for this change. It has to be seen in the difference between the Old and New Testaments, in terms of the Covenants that God has made with the Jews and with all people.
Originally posted by rapalla7Hi Mike. Yes I agree there are a lot of very interesting material on that website. Unfortunately I think there has been a lot of false doctrines for many different reasons. Some are bona fide, but still not correct. The terrible thing about all this is that there are many people who do not knowe what to believe anymore. It is a very clever tactic. It's like slander. If someone is slandered, but it is false, they never have the same reputation again after the event.
Well, what it all comes down to is that religion has been defined and re-defined, or recycled if you will.
The alter came from the pagans as well.😉
It is a very interesting read though.
