@kewpie saidIt's customary to be polite to strangers and jokingly offensive to your friends.
In the real world I'm careful about making humorous remarks to people who are not close friends. But those friends are fair game for outrageous jokes and comments.
An old acquaintance used to say "if you can't insult your friends, who can you be rude to?" I thought about that and decided he was right. It's customary to be polite to strangers and jokingly offensive to your ...[text shortened]... ocial behaviour stuff is hard - after 79 years I still don't really get it. 🙃 Still trying though.
I have been accused of being a pedophile, being too narcissistic to treat my wife correctly when she was nearly dying, lying about the deaths of close relatives, being a rapist, being mentally ill, and - ironically - weaponizing mental health issues - to name but a few kinds of banter - by prominent people here. I have never replied in kind.
So, do I give two hoots if some people here have a different sense of humour from me? No.

@fmf saidMe challenging you about the language you use (calling people paranoid or delusional) was neither a weaponization of mental health or banter. - Every time you claim otherwise you look remarkably silly and your false claim is rightly removed by the mods (as it has been a dozen times).

@ghost-of-a-duke saidThe words "paranoid" and "delusional" are everyday English words with conventional meanings. I have never weaponized mental health issues, not once, in all the years I have been here.

@fmf saidYou misuse those words to belittle the person you direct them to, so much so, that you have become a parody of yourself.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidI use those words to mean exactly what they are supposed to mean whenever the content of a post warrants it.

I never have. Not once.
Look at these six posts:
I don't think I [agree]. I was easily one of the most prominent and tenacious posters on the Debates Forum for years. Do you really not recall?
Why would anyone worry about the "look" of disagreeing with other posters when necessary?
I disagree. I was, in fact, very capable of defending the stances I took. When you say "I'm guessing you simply could not..." are you conceding that you either weren't around at that time or that you actually do not remember? Why are you "guessing"?
I think you are very mistaken.
What "conspiracy theories" would have been validated in the eyes of "some on the right"? What are you on about?
Ponderable, I predict that Suzianne will continue to post this kind of stuff throughout 2024.
Suzianne described these six posts as "hate posts".
They clearly are not.
To call them "hate posts" is paranoid.
This is an apt use of the word paranoid.

@kewpie saidOn our meetings I found you to be impeccable...but then I probably counted as "stranger" 😉

@ghost-of-a-duke saidBut you are quibbling the everyday word paranoid. And yet here you are dodging an example of the correct use of the word.
Some people are worth dodging.
