I need a good recipe that includes as many of the following ingredients as possible:
Celery
Half a head of Red Cabbage
1 Lime
1 Tomato
Yellow Onions
Shallots
Garlic
1 Red Pepper
1 Yellow Pepper
This is what's in my fridge. I also have a wide selection of fresh herbs and dried spices.
I'm thinking I could buy 1 white onion and make a small a ...[text shortened]... nausages and cook 'em with the onions and peppers.
Anyone else have any other suggestions?

This recipe wins. Thanks, Gidget!
Originally posted by darvlayYou're welcome, Darv 🙄 Go ahead with the sesame oil, it'll give the dish a slight nutty texture. Don't be afraid to sprinkle the lime into the pan at the last minute - lime doesn't like being simmered. For coriander paste, mix the coriander powder with a few dashes (...as required for consistency) of white wine vinegar or herb vinegar. If you have chilis or - even better - sambal oolek add a little of one or the other to the coriander paste...

It'll all work fine without the prawns... but the prawns give it that special weight and texture. Don't overcook the prawns!!! 😵

Chop the onions and throw them in to a large saucepan and let them simmer. Then chop up everything you have except the Lime and the Red Cabbage into quite small pieces. Add 200ml of water and then start adding the chopped up items into the pan with the onions, putting the things that will cook slowest (e.g. potatoes) in first. Then start adding the rest until you've got rid of everything, except the lime and cabbage.
Optional: Run a blender through the mix to make it smoothe.
When ready (after about an hour) pour into a bowl, sprinkle salt and pepper over and a dash of line juice and eat.
Throw the cabbage in the bin or feed to dog.
Make a lentil curry if you've brown lentils. Fry up the onion with masala (or ordinary curry powder), powdered cumin and turmeric till soft. Add the chopped veggies and half a packet of dried lentils with chicken stock (veggie stock if you want to be pukka) and extra seasoning like salt and pepper. If you want to be fancy, cut the tomato in half and grate it in - no skin, see? Put lid on pot for at least an hour and simmer until done.
Now if you've got some flour and butter, you could make roti to go with it.
