Too late Crowley old man. I already picked the aluminium cans out of the dumpsters. 😛

Paternal and maternal grandparents came from Vastergotland to the USA/Boston area turn of the 20th century. I'll try the invite again. Thanks.

Edit: Still rejected the invite... "Already playing max concurrent games of 0." Increased mine to 20. Wishing you a fine game. And thanks.

"Epic battle" as the obvious underdog will, perhaps, unfold after I've taken your measure a few games from now. Bird's Opening I enjoy.

Agree. Far move dynamic beginning than the Scandinavian I played (to an eventual extraordinarily slow played draw) this summer with you.

Extraordinarily slow? You should see the games I am playing at the moment...

I noticed. Mix of rapid/slow is okay with me, long as I have the option of making half dozen or more moves per day. Keeps me off the forums.

if there's anything to learn from history, it's that finland vs sweden is never easy, and never over until it's over.

The Moose sneaks in under the cover of darkness and throws away a 30 gallon (113.56235 liter (litre)) bag full of his worse games of 2008. It hits the bottom of the empty dumpster with a resounding crash and splits open to reveal the biggest collection of woodpushing foul-ups and patzer moves that you have ever seen. It's all there: blundering away a Queen, pieces caught on a pawn fork, King sitting on his home square surrounded by the enemy, doubled and tripled pawns...... The Moose quietly moves away hoping Gramps is still awake to offer a warming snoutful and reassurance that 2009 will be better.

Moose, trust me on this one, you need to lose more games. Lost 900-1,000 to exceptional mentors in my early 20's before holding my own.

P.S. Wondering if you and your dear wife enjoyed my Christmas Greeting. If yes, sincerely hope you'll send it along to your stalwart sons.
