@torunn saidIndeed.
It wasn't? What was your suggestion?
I was too quick reading the earlier posts: your suggestion was 'making the best of things.' Am I right this time? 🙂
Mine is more wishy-washy. 'Positivity.'
😀
I just like the idea of sitting down and reading a dozen positive stories from the great writers we have here.
So taking up Indonesia Phli's list and adding the suggestions made and found we have:
A Dystopian Future
Happy Ending
Freewheel
The Mountain
Escape
Childhood revisited
Positivity
and "none" I would suggest if there are more suggestions for topics bring them until tomorrow 3rd of April 18 o'clock (site-time) and I will set up the vote
@torunn saidActually that is about the amount which went to a private message (at least that was vandervelde's reason)
@Ponderable
What was the reason we settled for 800?
@very-rusty saidHow's that any different than what you do ALL the time?
Ok, just seems like you are putting a lot of suggestions for someone who isn't going to be involved.

I have entered the last couple of years and would like to again, of the choices so far, I'd like something that has a happy ending.
However, if I could throw an option into the mix:
Write the story from an unusual perspective, such as:
1. An aliens view of a war with humanity.
2. A foxes view of being hunted
3 A tree being chopped down
4. The iceberg falling from the Antarctic/Arctic
5. The fire works final journey...
I'm sure there would be a stack of other options.

This is a great idea but some stories would be ruined because the reader
would have that prior knowledge. For instance the reader might assume
the story was about a refugee escaping war and the denouement could
be the protagonist being ripped apart by hounds. Just my thought.
My suggestion: some claustrophobic setting;
a transatlantic flight, elevator or small apartment in lockdown!
@great-big-stees saidI’ve only just looked at this thread.
I say “freewheel”.
