@very-rusty saidTo some people, perhaps.
You have your opinion and I have mine.
As you know it the world we live in, it is mostly about winning
To you, it appears, it's mostly about whining.

@shallow-blue saidWhat do you in fact thing I am whining about, or are you saying it for the sake of something to say and staying with little group?

@relentless-red saidThe edit is an interesting thought.
Saxophonists stick to their own reeds so this could work. But what music would you need to play your intended victim to make them want to take up saxophone??
Edit: What if after all that waiting they played it well so you didn't want them dead anymore? Methods that potentially make you reconsider should be promoted in my opinion. Is that still a murder mystery if they change their mind?
So what constitutes a murder mystery. I think a murder was committed (or believed to have been committed). To step bak in the last minute is more of a psychological study.
In fact Crime and Punishment would be a psychological study not a mystery (we know who murdere why very early in the novel)

@ghost-of-a-duke saidThe question wasn't directed to you goad, and obvious answer you would make.
At the moment you are whining about whining.
I was looking for the answer to come from the poster I quoted it to, got it?

@ghost-of-a-duke saidI rewarm this thread for a poll:
I think separating the two competitions makes sense.
Perhaps we're ready now for a poll on theme/genre?

@Ponderable
Combination. Show the entries in a public thread with the option of PM vote available to all. Run a private thread for voting within the thread and post-result discussion. Gives you the option of just ignoring everything that follows the entries in the public thread whilst joining in the private thread at the discretion of the person running it.

@ponderable saidPRIVATE of course would be best, then you just have the people who are really interested in it.

@very-rusty saidThat of course excludes the people who come across it casually in the public forum. Not everybody would want to join a defined club in order to read the stories.

Relentless red makes a good suggestion.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidNo actually an excellent suggestion surprised someone didn't think of that a long time ago! 🙂

@very-rusty saidAnything that bars Rusty and his half-wit pals from sabotaging the thread is a welcome suggestion.
