same with me. I delay going shopping as long as inhumanly possible. then, when I absolutely have to go, I get a fit within the first hour because it's just too damn annoying.
I've been thinking of getting totally plastered within that first hour, and that would probably do the trick. but then again, I'd probably end up getting a tape recorder, for ...[text shortened]... irts. and then I'd have to arm myself.
come to think of it, that sounds like a good plan.
How much would you be willing to pay to be relieved of the agony that shopping brings? π
Originally posted by wormwoodI have learned not to delay grocery shopping, but rather do it frequently in small doses, and that actually works quite well now (i.e. I usually have something to eat in the house, and I usually survive the shopping without panic attacks or having to recover for the rest of the day). When it comes to clothes, I still delay it as long as inhumanly possible as well. When I really really really can't wait any longer because all my clothes have holes, I'll make an attempt to buy something, but that's not always successful. Argh.

Actually, I like shopping too. I'll go with you. We need someone to fund it though.
It's the funding bit that always gets me down tooπ
Actually...it's the lack of funds that has made me such a good shopperπ
SALES SALES SALES
Edit:
Also...if you know what you're doing you can get a gaurantee 10-15% of any product in any store. π

We don't have any good record shops here. π Actually no really good bookshops either. :'( Anyway, I am not that much into records, and record shops are often noisy.
I like all bookshops (I'm a semi-professional librarian π). although I buy stuff mostly online nowadays. but if something catches my eye in a shop, and something always does...
good books are like good records. there's too bloody many of them.
Originally posted by wormwoodI like all bookshops, too, but I miss shops with a wider selection of books, and also shops with chairs or sofas where you can sit down and read comfortably.

A few years ago I spent a week in Hay-on-Wye, the town of books. Paradise!
Originally posted by NordlysI think second hand bookshops are the best... You never know what beauty you might find. And the books normally have just a little wear and tear to be very charming, but not ruined ;-).

Originally posted by NordlysI usually leave the smelly books in the shop ;-). I just like second hand because I can't read a brand new book in a comfortable way. I don't want to be the one to wreck the cover :-s. With second hand, I've come to terms with it and have a good read :-). And it's nice to have books with little inscriptions to people you'll never know... gives it an extra story :-).
