@divegeester saidMaybe we could see what's going on at the Tavern?
Ready to think about something else now?
Admittedly the service has been kind of slow lately, and it's possible we might walk into some kind of murder tableau or crime in progress because of the dodgy chef they hired, but I imagine all kinds of things and it might just be another dull, slow-service, after-hours night at the Tavern.
How about it?
@kevin-eleven saidThanks for the advice.
How about some kind of daily meditation to develop detachment from attentional snares as well as selective focus? I know it might seem like a waste of time, but think of it as developing your mental fascia.
@kevin-eleven saidNa. Boring. Only the word association thread is more boring.

I’ve come to realise this morning that you are bored and get bored easily. A malaise which I too suffer from and have had to work at all my life.

@kevin-eleven saidI don't give two hoots. You are a malicious little disinhibited nobody who posts the nastiest trashy "banter" he can think of when he is drunk or medicated. I couldn't care less about any "daily regimen" you may or may not have.
Now if only I could take my own advice. I retired about 3.5 years ago and meant for meditation to be part of my daily regimen, but [that hasn't happened / I haven't made myself do it].
@fmf saidThat's fine, but if ever you wanted to give meditation a try I would say forget about 20 minutes twice a day as many suggest.

Five minutes a day would be fine for starters, similar to intending to do just one push-up which might lead to doing several after you get into push-up [UK: press-up] position and might as well do a few more.
Getting into position is the obstacle.
@fmf saidfirst 20 years employed, had 2 great employers and 1 not so good, as a sub contractor the negatives for me were if a job came up and your client gave me a lot of work I had to change any plans and fit them in including changing holiday dates and working out of hours & weekends also chasing your money and putting lot of customers in the county court, got caught out twice one firm took me for a grand another 22k which at the time was a huge blow , once you go self employed I felt I could not go back ...on balance with all its faults I prefered beeing self employment........now get on with all your bitching.
Are you an employee or are you self-employed?
If you are self-employed, what problems do you face that you probably wouldn't if you were an employee?

@kevin-eleven saidI have made a start and get my servant to meditate for me, 20 minutes a day instead of taking a lunch break.
That's fine, but if ever you wanted to give meditation a try I would say forget about 20 minutes twice a day as many suggest.
I am already starting to feel better.

@kevin-eleven saidThere you go ... you screwed up another thread with your selfishness. You should be proud of yourself.

12 years as an independent medical biller, now with 6 doctor clients. I do insurance claim submission, benefit verification, credentialing, and payment ledger posting.
The "problems" I face are having to be at least somewhat skilled at all parts of running a business. i.e. marketing, customer service work, bookkeeping, as well as adhering to a work schedule that can change with the needs of my clients.
I love it though - It's nice to watch the morning traffic reports over breakfast, knowing my office is just across the hall from my bedroom. 🙂
@rajk999 saidThank you for your contribution.

Please refer to the original topic.
I hope you don't have a liver imbalance.
You seem angry or at least irritable lately.
@fmf saidI find I need to embrace the distractions for limited amounts of time and dangle them like carrots that draw me forward and allow me to get stuff done chunk by chunk ~ all lubricated by the dollops of self-indulgence that are rendered guilt-free thanks to productivity.
I have some difficulty managing my distractions.
