Why are you so worried about the Patriot Act as it doesn't affect you....and by the way, my attitude was strictly about my being paid more under the Reagan administration, so I ain't worried about anything coming back to haunt me, but I wish you would put things into context when you try to slam me, 'cause it make you look limp-wristed when you twist things around....😲
Chancre doesn't give a rats ass so long as something doesn't affect him personally.

It's a hell of a resume isn't it? I didn't say he was faultless, just that he increased my standard of living, and responded to Moamar Kaddafi, the Achille Lauro, and defeated Gorbachav and Communism, and helped free millions of Eastern Europeans, and helped Hussein (the lesser of two devils at the time) fight the dreaded Iranians, and allowed 8 million illegals to remain in the US (a major mistake on his part).

you are right on principle though, it is still a bizarre post ... chancre says some amazing stuff ... bush should promote him 😀

Sorry guys, I didn't realize you were big business owners. Now you are making fat cake thanx to Bush.
Getting a raise with a republican in office is like saying 'there is no such thing as global warming, it is cooler this year'. So, if all you care about is money in your pocket... I hope you spend it well. I myself have concerns about the environment, and the deficit... as well as getting the world involved in any more wars we undertake... and helping us clean up the one we are in now.
Oh, wait. War is good for the economy. Perhaps some of the cash will eventually trickle down... who knows?
I might add I make some good cake, but I worry about the climate of the economy as well. No business is safe if the workers don't get a crumb here and there... and we sure as hell are not going to have a future by cutting taxes for the rich, and cutting medical and social security... on top of destroying the environment all in the name of a raise.
Gas prices sure as heck are not coming down anytime soon.. why bring them down if you are a company providing it? Just a small hand full of companies.
Hey, I got a raise also... but I also went out and traded my gas guzzler for a small car. With luck, we'll all make it another 4 years and realize who is really getting rich, and what the real cost is.

I'm too deep to live for $$, but I recognize its potential and allow it to make my life somewhat better...no shame there, right?, after all, I'm willing to go where my country needs my services on a moment's notice. If thanking Bush for making up the difference in my salary that was lost during the Clinton love-affair makes me seem republican, which I aint, I don't apologize. I also support the environment; if you do a forums search, you will see that. I drive a 4 cylinder Honda. You can do another forums search to see if you can find anywhere that I stated I was pro-Iraq invasion...you won't find it; supporting the troops is not the same thing. I agree with you on your comments about the rich getting richer, and I'm all for universal health care and protecting social security, but I ain't about to bemoan the fact of my raises or feel guilty. In fact, the boys in Iraq should be getting more compensation for what they're putting their lives on the line for: you and me....😉

Other than that... I see a problem with the economy, and I'd rather see you come home and defend us here rather than be over sea fighting a war that can't be won.
We cool, Chanc Mac?

Originally posted by chancremechanicI don't see how what I did was quoting you out of context??? I posed Bbarr's post and then I posted your response to it. Please explain how this is quoting out of context, are u saying that you didn't say what I quoted in response to what bbarr posted? If I really wanted to quote you out of context I would have quoted somebody saying Saddam Hussein wasn't as evil as people make out, and then copied a line of yours saying 'Yeah, he's great', ommitting the line before where u say 'I love Reagan'. My original statement was 'Chancre doesn't give a rats ass so long as something doesn't affect him personally. ' and I think your quote that I provided backs that up perfectly.
Raghead, you're quoting me out of context, which is intellectually dishonest on your part, but being a commy liberal from the Emerald Isle, I'm not surprised by your method...and by the way, my attitude was strictly about my being ...[text shortened]... ation, so I ain't worried about anything coming back to haunt me,
Flexmore, I understood perfectly what Chancre was saying. The only words I was interested in quoting were the first line where he says he knows of all of Reagan's crimes against humanity, but he didn't care cos his standard of living had been improved. I included the rest, cos I didn't want to appear to be quoting out of context. So he thinks a man who backs both sides in a war (Iraq and Iran) leading to millions of deaths, is the best president because he gave Chancre a pay rise. The same great man supported Suharto in East Timor leading to the deaths of approximately 2,000,000 innocent people. Ah well, he gave Chancre a pay rise, so good on him!! You can't even claim ignorance like so many of your country folk, which is even worse. You know about these terrors and still stand by your point of view.
Shows a blatant disrespect for non-american lives, which is why so many people have animosity towards the u.s. these days. Everybody can see this attitude, not only within the government, but also in millions of people, who are quite happy that their government are causing millions upon millions of foreigner's lives to be abysmal, so that the american public can enjoy cheap gasoline and can gorge themselves on donuts and fast food in comfort.
You say the diving in Guatanamo is great, the beer is good and the chicks are great, and its all super cos all the 'terrorists' are locked up? What about the 'terrorists' who have been released without charge or apology after over 2 years of imprisonment, mostly in blindfolded solitary confinement. Another great example of you not caring what happens to other people so long as your quality of live isn't affected. You HAVE to realise that these people were the same as you, and were just carted off due to questionable profiling, ie: they were the wrong colour with the wrong religion. Lets see how much of a MINOR inconvenience it is to you when you get carted off for years when you're completely innocent.

I can see that you've obviously put a lot of effort into your valid and thought provoking arguments. I'm humbly apologetic for stepping on the toes of your magnificent online-personae. In future I will be that much more aware of writing something with which you would be inclined to disagree, such powerful identities such as yourselves surely don't even need drawn out statements to explain what you mean.
Would you like some 'cheese' with that 'whine'?

Anyway.
It's disheartening to see the sheer stupidity of patriotism constantly rearing it's ugly head to bite off any rational arguments that a logical mind would care to expend against a supremist nation such as the United States of America. If I am to generalise here, then I apologize, but it appears to me that a majority of American people are brainwashed from birth to religiously believe in the country that sired them. The benefits of a nation of simple minded sycophants to that nation's government have been made evident in your last election. I could fill volumes with arguments against patriotism, but my words will no doubt fall on deaf, wax-clogged ears.
In response to the third quote, by chancremechanic: I doubt the "boys", as you so sentimentally hail them, in Iraq are putting their lives on the line for you and me, and if they are, then the situation is even more dire than I had imagined. How are the soldiers in Iraq saving "you and me"? Oh, whoops. I'm sorry. I seem to have taken for granted the fact that the Bush administration has inundated your nation with a continual bombardment of propagandist filth and that you people might actually believe that there is some link between Iraq and your concept of "terror".
But I digress. The fact is that every single American citizen who goes on that website and apologizes to the world for George W Bush winning the election is merely furthering the argument for the FAILURE of democracy, and the democratic system which you so blindly idolize.
