Yeah I know, I've suffered some bad injuries myself when I still played union. Torn ligaments, broken nose (x2), concussions and now my knees and back is shot as well. Also endured a few punches and constant rucking from the opponent tight five - not fun. Gotta love rugby... whatever flavour you like.

BTW, I don't think the Brumbies has what it takes th ...[text shortened]... rs. I think the final will be Crusaders vs. Blues. Not that the SA teams look too good actually.
I agree with you on the brumbies to some extent. The performances we are putting in at the moment won't be winning us any finals. On the other hand our side has barely changed from last year, and i don't believe injuries are a big issue either (unlike the SA sides). Hopefully this means we are just stuck in a bit of bad form which could pass come finals time (fingers crossed). If not i can take comfort in the fact that the canberra raiders are still undefeated after 8 rounds (and still not another league fan in sight, grrr).

By the way crawley, that's a very impressive list of injuries. My occasional broken arm pales in comparison.

This is pretty cool, it's like we've got our own Southern Hemisphere rugga forum πŸ˜€
The Stormers is the only side really struggling with injuries. The Sharks and Cats are just playing crap, but the Bulls are playing great rugby - they've actually still got a mathematical chance of making the semi's. The Brumbies, Warathas and Highlanders lose and the Bulls get 5 points from the shark tank - they'll get into the semi's.
Wishful thinking...

I've had my fair share of injuries, it's pretty much stopped me from playing rugby again ever.

Looks like our rugby forum has been hijacked 😠.

I'm sorry to hear you're unable to play rugby anymore crawley, but a career in soccer is always available to you. Not only would your injuries no longer be a burden, your side would be granted penalties every time anything twinged or twanged.

Yeah, maybe I should have named the thread 'rugga'. It's weird that there hasn't been more football posts here. There are probably more footie supporters using RHP than rugga supporters.

Isn't football picking up steam now in Australia? Like Brain said earlier, in SA it's mosly the black and english population that play and support soccer. The Afrikaans population is mostly just rugby and cricket, although I don't really mind soccer if it's an important game in a big competition like the WC or something like the champions league.

It's hard to say. A year or 2 ago we lost to New Zealand and the media kept harping on about it being the low point of australian soccer. Then some months back we beat England, and everyone started going the other direction.

It has got plenty of followers, especially amonst the aussie wogs, and will probably continue to grow. But with 3 footy codes already it will be a struggle (i played soccer for 8 years as a kid, and had a great time. But i still find it dead boring to watch).

Hell, I thought NZ was all about union. (Isn't it like a religion there?)
What's/Who is Wogs?
In SA in the apartheid era, only black guys played soccer and only white guys played rugby. It's getting a bit more colour either way nowadays... although the government imposing laws on the number of coloured guys in the national team is not always viewed as a good thing. There's alot of debate about this in SA.
