I view movies with Firefox and I have never experienced these problems of driveby downloads associated with IE.

To each his own I suppose.
I actually encountered the problem when using firefox...

Yes.
Firefox is by no means free of malware threats.

As we know. Well, most of us know. 😕

That is untrue. Firefox does not have Activex controls which allow those trojans to bite your OS like they do with IE.

Wtf?? I know which web browser I was using at the time, firefox, as I always do. No amount of denial about Activex controls is going to deny that fact. 😕

Just to prove that you are either clowning your way around, are a pathological liar or are completely illiterate; show us a document (from the likes of McAfee, Symantec, Spywareinfo) stating that the Zlob Trojans infiltrate through the Firefox browser.

What the hell? Why should I have to prove myself to you?
The fact is I don't, and if you knew me you wouldn't be saying such things.
Just because firefox may not use activex, it doesn't mean that a certain video or audio files can't still ask you to install this supposed 'activex' anyway, on firefox, and that is how it can work, and did, that is how it installed stuff on my desktop, and in the taskbar, if you don't believe, go to hell. 😕

It looks like all three :-

a) clowning your way around
b) a pathological liar
c) completely illiterate

Next time make up something more believable like you saw a pig flying on a broom.

The only real reason that Firefox and others were more imune to spyware and the like was that as they were only used by a minority of users, there wasnt the demand for the army of cr*p that there was for IE. Now that firefox is mainstream, expect it to get attention from the sort of 'scum' who write malware.

At least in my humble opinion. 😉

How come no one sensible from the likes of Spywareinfo, McAfee, Norton etc have written supporting your "opinion"? Perhaps they need to sniff glue then or they do not need to publish lies?

LOL. No it's not. FireFox is more idiot proof, but is by no means 'secure'...

Unfortunately, it's also junk. I've never known it find anything.

For freebies, I would use Spybot S+D (this gets most of the bad boys, but doesn't bother with annoying advertising stuff) -plus- Superantispyware (much the other way around) If you're bothered about viruses (they are not so common these days) go for AVG or similar. I would never install Symanteque or McAffii unless you have a quad core with nothing better to do - they eat resources and are a bu66er to get rid of.
If you're willing to pay, I would highly recommend PCTools Spyware Doctor - it's not too hungry, regularly updated and easy to switch off.

Just my 4d.

You might be. You have failed to provide the proof and so has your buddy.
