yes & no

and then one fine day in a leap year
yawn met baby hmm...
as they were jogging in the city park;

hardly love at first sight:
he was dark and handsome,
alright, but sooo much

older than she
yes, dear reader,
you guessed it right

things surely did get complicated
by day and evening

(ha, we caught you sleeping... expecting the alliteration of night)

especially by misty fountains

on moonlit nights.
they courted intensely
for the better part of twenty four months of college (comma)

whether on long drives on shunpike side roads adorned with ferns in bayberry autumn
or at cozy scrumpalicious tex/mex sonora style eateries w/umbrella drinks
beneath bridges (just off the interstate)

or at corner tables in fine italian or french restaurants
by reservation only
or at home alone munching well buttered popcorn

with napa valley red wine watching
intriguing rental movies.
finally, they wed on a thurday
ha, there you go again... expecting the allit of wednesday

with a big church wedding in the city (semi)
both sets of parents approved
and got along famously.

two years later, yawn and baby hmm received a visit from the still sticky stork
which managed to fly into an errant fuel spray
from a jet westbound to lake erie

from la guardia, ny.
and a second child, three years later to the day; the first was a blond haired playful girl
they named, 'no'; the second was a tall and handsome lad

they named, 'yes'.
whenever yes said 'yes', the eyelids of everyone in the periphery involuntarily blinked or winked;
whenever no said 'no', everybody returned an unflinching eyelock

Ha, try it at home... [Reply Reply & Quote]

Yes and No were blessed with a bright younger brother, Yawn and Baby Hmm named 'Maybe'.

Maybe excelled in chess, having won the Title of Champion of the Sandbox at the Age of Three.

That same year, Greenpawn34 asked him to help with the Blogs and Teaching Chores @ RHP.

Students would frequently ask Maybe if certain moves were the right moves in their games.

Maybe would slowly raise his left hand to his face and, then, stroke the cheekbone with his index digit;

and, then, he would sit down across from them on one of the small, molded red vinyl/plastic chairs

and softly whisper
maybe

.

I'm stuck wondering how, with what you said first, the second part verifies the first part. Seems to me that it refutes it. 😲

Cut off a long piece of sticky tape, one end gets stuck to something hairy, you try to peel it off, meanwhile another bit is busy sticking to itself - you know how it is, you end up chasing your own tail glue-wise ...

Yes and No, Yawn and Baby Hmm and Maybe chipped in

and purchasd a powerful dog from the local kennels;

and, after hours and days and weeks of family discussion

made their final decision on the new family pet's name.

So 'Might', Maybe, Baby Hmm and Yawn, No and Yes

lived happily ever after until an enormous pottery bowl

of wicked thick and icky flour and water paste hit the fan;

they all laughed about the incident for many, many years.

No and Yes and Maybe eventually married their Sweethearts.

No, well she married a lawyer by the name of No Way, Jose;

Yes lucked out and married Yasmine, a Home Coming Queen;

Maybe married Mary who played checkers and made sticky pies.

GB you can't be getting enough sleep, what with all the yawning you seem to be doing. You've got to get "unstuck" from the chair in front of the desktop/laptop and hit the sack.

Think I'll stick close to the trunk as the branches don't seem too sturdy.

STG Family Tree [next installment / page 7,900]

* Grandfather, Ice Cold still AWOL; Grandmother Icey, presumed dead
from either hypothermia or hypertension (nobody ever found out).

* Father & Mother, Yawn and Baby Hmm, were moved by ambulance during the wee hours to a private
nursing home way, way out in the country where they could be propped up and properly pampered.

*** Spouses / Children / Dog and Baby Sitter:

* No married No Way, Jose and moved to Nowhere Anyone Ever Heard Of
and were blessed with one friendly boy child named Giant Big Schticks;

* Yes married Yasmine and moved to the Midwest, USA, and were especially blessed
with a most beautiful and literate baby girl they named Miss Excellante' Coquie;

* Maybe married Mary and moved to Boston where they reluctantly received one sad
runt of a male (the stork had intentionally dropped) named Loquacious Lad.

* Family's Beloved Dog, Might, sired five spotted pups, of which six died moments
after birth from very serious afterbirth complications and loss of vitreous humor.

* Trusted Family Baby Sitter, since before Grampy Ice was born, Kind Hearted Kewpie taught
the entire family the English Language and Chess until she parsed at the tender age of 2,013.

then, going out on a fragile limb it shall be:
gbs and miss and kewp became bffs while still
in 1st grade.... pen pal stuff morphed to 3-way phone calls

and then, finally, to emails and skype when the three
mischevious mice receieved laptops (lad was a slow learner)
for christmas while in second grade.

in fourth grade their parents
[No and No Way, Jose; Yes and Yasmine;
and Maybe and Mary]

agreed a trip to disney world would be a good idea.
the kids jumped for joy when they were told;
no and yasmine would chaperone

while mary stayed behind in boston
to keep an eye on loquacious lad who had
a penchant for raising a ruckus

at the city library in copley square.
while on their vacation trip of a lifetime,
schitcks and coquie and kew

went to a local pet store to buy a kitten
for coq, since she always wanted one to curl up
with like her two bffs did with their's

she looked longingly at the pretty kittens
until one winked at her three times.
guess what name she picked for ___
