A little cheaper than in Norway, but definitely not cheap. Other than that, I can't help you much - I haven't been to Malmö. But if you are lucky, you might see some nordlys. π

do that if I don't know what you'd like to do while you're there? I mean, I
could say it's a pro that Malmö has some interesting historical sights to
see, but then again, you may not be interested in that at all, so it would
have to go under con for you.
In short, if you like to relax and engage in small talk with a nice bunch
of people I think it would be worthwhile for you to visit Malmö. And if you
want to get away from hectic city life (remember, Swedish cities are really
not much more than very small towns) Malmö would be a good choice.
Everything is but a strawl away (almost). Nice pubs, nice people (mostly),
interesting historical buildings and statues, one or two night clubs, but
nothing for the party geek (unless you know people down there).
I have to admit I haven't been down there in ages though. I hear there
are some really good coffe shops where you can play chess, but I have
no idea where they are.
Sorry I can't be of more help to you. If you need to know anything
specific, just ask. I can't promise I've got an answer, but I can always
ask a few friends from Malmö.
Now, back to sleeping with my banana... s. π

But for the record, i like good food, good beer, good massage, and bad women. That along with the odd show, and a bit of excitement rocks my boat.....(and on occasion, the odd banned substance, but we try not to mention that if we can)
I had a weekend to play around with, but unfortunately it is the easter weekend, and not only is there no direct flights to malmo on the days required, every flight to anywhere is premium rate because of the easter holiday....total bummer.
I am thinking of taking a week off in the next couple of months instead.
Malmö isn't too far from Stockholm and Stockholm is a beautiful city. Damn cold at this time of year as it's full of water but it is certainly worth a visit.
I have spent a little time in Malmö myself but, personally, would head to the capital. Sweden is not cheap but the UK is catching up with it so you may not be too shocked.
