Is college teaching you that people seeking originality are retards?
How are people who get tattoos creating "more stringent rules to conform to?"
Why aren't bumber stickers included in this complaint of yours. I find those to be more "in-my-face" annoying than a tattoo.
BTW: Many people who have tattoos design their own.

I have some t-shirts I like very much and which tell something about myself, and I often wear them openly, but in some circumstances I don't think they are appropriate and will either not wear them or hide them under a jumper.
Why are you hiding them if they're such a great, integral part of your life? It's because you know they're stupid and represent an error in judgment. I have more respect for low lifes who show their tattoos always (and as a result usually can't find a job) than hypocrits who go around hiding them. Why hide them? You'd say because "they're not appropriate ...[text shortened]... something to be ashamed of? Because you were stupid, and made a mistake - that's why.
I personally don't like tattoos, but I don't expect everybody to agree with me, and I won't judge people for having them.
Originally posted by cheshirecatstevensokay, that sounds a lot more sensible. but I disagree on your notion that tattoos are used by people to define them. it's one aspect of it of course. but it's not really about defining yourself, it's about transforming yourself. a tattoo is not a picture. a removable 'tattoo' is a picture. with ink in your flesh you're going a lot deeper.
Here we go back to the begining. tattoos are used by people to define them. The classic " I got it because (insert idea)" Its suppose to show the world somthing about them we coudn't know without being told. Like membership in a gang or club, or just to show your wild side, even who you "love". Time changes everything, including views. This means ...[text shortened]... I can do this. ***I appologise if I insinuated that all people with tattoos are retarted***

right in fron of Iltakoulu, and you'll see quality, mate 😉
Originally posted by cheshirecatstevensSo you believe that these stupid retards are the way they are because they have tattoos ?
Read the post, I said I see retards get the everyday. That is far from being an all inclusive statement, espesially when taken incontext, of college students getting them. And tattoos are stupid.
Maybe you don't want , or didn't intend to generalise, but that is exactly what you did. If i see a stupid retard, he is exactly that, regardless of whether he has a tattoo or not. I have met plenty of stupid retarded college students, usually ones who don't know much about life, but i don't make sweeping student statements. . .he's a retard who just happens to also go to college. At least you're not complaining about all the black retards, that is covered in the racism laws 😛
To be totally honest my first tattoos were indeed a right of passage, i got them done from a friend in the living room of his house with a sewing needle and a bottle of indian ink, but i am not and never was a scumbag, it's just the way things were.
And i have....met a lot of wet behind the ear, retard college students.

Then dont lump yourself in if it doesn't apply.I'm not going to be pc about it. Resorting to personel attack is weak. you can pm an apology.
Rather than begin a rational discussion about the subject you began with "Tattoos are stupid" and went on with other gems such as "It looks assinine" & "they look foolish" in your very 1st post.
By beginning this way you anger all of those/us who are proud to have a tattoo(s). This is an idiotic way to begin any discussion, esp. if you wish to have any sort of rational reply from those who disagree. (If you do not wish a rational reply then why bother start the conversation? other than to specifically wind people up of course but this in itself would be a personal attack to all of the tattoo'd masses).
eejit
Obviously having a tatoo or not is a personal choice, like having an earing, or coloring your hair, or shaving your armpits (or not), or smoking.
Personally I think not shaving your pits is disgusting on women, but that is the culture here and though I would be very turned off, I would not criticize someone for it.
Not a big deal, why criticize someone for making a personal choice?
Your body is only temporary anyway, it's what's in your soul that counts, that is what you take with you in the end.
🙂
Tattoos represent different things to different people. For some it is a tradition, representing ancestry/lineage (look at the Rock's Lineage tattoo) many of us who are inked are ex-military, some have been inked in prison, and some people have even dedicated parts of their body as a religious symbol. As strongly as some people are oppsed to tattoos, other people are just as pro. I have 3, and will someday get more, I even enjoy the whole process. I find it very pleasant. It's not for everyone. But those who have them and like them usually have stories to tell...I hope this helped capture a bit of the allure of "the inked."
