In the US, today is Veteran's Day. To me it doesn't matter if your particular country sets this day aside to honor vetereans or not. I just wanted to take a moment to thank all veterans for your service to your country.
Thank You.

You see even thought little is talked about it, WWII had Japan invading Alaska, and who could ever forget the bombing in Pearl Harbor.
I don't even want to remind you of 9/11
Oops forgot about the war of 1812
Maybe you should read some more history books before you decide when our freedoms were at stake.

In the US, on Memorial Day we pay tribute to those who died for their country and on Veteran's Day we honor all who served. I'm sure other countries have days set aside to do this same thing to honor their veterans, regardless of what they may call the day.
My OP was an extended "thanks" to all veterans who serve honorably, regardless of what country they serve. It was intended simply to respectfully say thanks to veterans. Nothing more or less.
It was not about any particular war or which country was doing the right or wrong thing. We have the debates forum for that.

I also remember it was our veterans that helped put an end to this loss of freedom.
As a veteran and a Jew, this has got to be the single ugliest statement I have ever heard.
mwmiller, My apologies for turning your thread into a debate, and again I say thanks for your thoughts.
