As a matter of interest, does this 'thank you' extend to the enemy veterans that your veterans fought against?
This isn't about enemies. It's only about the person who serves their country. The country itself may be right or wrong in their action, but that does not take away from the honorable service of the veteran.

Apparently the OP's 'thank you' does extend to "enemy veterans". I don't have any particular view on what the original poster should or shouldn't say.
observance was to honor enemy fighting forces. These days, however, the U.S. is on friendly
terms with Japan and Germany.. so who knows?

In the US, today is Veteran's Day. To me it doesn't matter if your particular country sets this day aside to honor vetereans or not. I just wanted to take a moment to thank all veterans for your service to your country.
Thank You.

I don't ever remembering any Jewish person (or any other race for that matter) languishing it up in a Nazi concentration camp. All I can ever see is the legalized torture and mass murders of human beings. Some life that is. Someone said they weren't human and they are to be wiped off the face of the Earth.
I also remember it was our veterans that help ...[text shortened]... My apologies for turning your thread into a debate, and again I say thanks for your thoughts.
To children ardent for some desperate glory,

Pro patria mori.
you might want to look up the definition of languish.
