Hey, Dustin....

I have looked around other sites and left one in particular because of the bad stuff happening there. I have begun to have a theory....

There is a nice site with good games and people who are mostly pleasant and fun. The site grows or just attracts the attention of bullies who come in and start throwing insults, allegations of cheating and making things unpleasant. This behavior brings out the less wonderful qualities of the people already there and attracts more of the bullies. Things get worse, and good people leave. Then the obnoxious people become worse and more visable. The behavior of everyone starts spiraling downwards until some more good people get fed up and leave which makes things worse, which makes more people leave, which makes things worse.........and so the site goes down the drain.

Russ and Chris can not protect this site by themselves. Each of us has to make a choice about how we conduct ourselves. Allowing ourselves to be drawn into bully-ish behavior, attempting to refute allegations, engaging the bullies in their misdoings only gives the bully more power. They want attention and contention. If the rest of us just continue enjoying the site, ignoring allegations, rudeness, stupid and mean remarks the bullies will wander off to find better game. If you leave, they win and ultimately no one worth being with will be gone and then the bullies will leave as well.

Do what you need to do, Dustin. I hope you stay.

My two cents, you've got the respect of a lot of people. Just ignore those people who are accusing you. You did the right thing - direct them to Russ. Then ask them for an apology. Better yet - crush them with a great chess game.

You having two accounts makes no sense to me anyways. For one thing, you're a subscriber. For another, you're a subscriber who plays a billion games. For yet another, you can beat a whole bunch of us here and don't need a way to inflate your rating (which is what most folks do with that extra handy account). For another, you just resigned like a billion games to focus more. It makes no sense.

Those of us that have been around a while, we know.

Instead of focusing on the people who made you angry - why not focus on those of us encouraging you to stay?

Please don't leave Dustin, chances are that the people that respect you way outnumber the ones that accuse you of stuff. I personally don't know why they were accusing you anyway but it doesn't really matter cause their wrong right? People are always gonna get on other peoples nerves and if people are jealous of you they're gonna make it hard for you. I hope you stay. Josh. M

Let me add a voice to this too. Dustn, don't leave.

I've played both dustnrogers and trackhead, as well as talked to both, and believe me, I can tell the difference. That difference is very distinct.

(And I'm not just biased because my win against dustnrogers is the most proud victory I've ever had on this site 🙂 )

I have also played both dustin and trackhead the styles were completely different. I managed one win against dustin also, never beat trackhead.

You do? whats your second account? And do you use engines to play all your games, or is that only when asked? you usually just use an engine for reference correct??? I dont mind that as most players do here!! I dont but, what can you do? Sorry for the questions, i just would like to know?
