I used to like biographies. This one you are reading sounds interesting.
I read too many depressing ones, it took the joy away.

Some years ago I read “I know why the caged bird sings” and despite the depressing content I found the book captivating and uplifting even in the darker parts.

My wife has bought me a few biographies and auto biographies over the years but I’ve found I haven’t completed reading them due to them not captivating me despite their sometimes lighter parts. Biographies of rock/pop stars for example.
