Get out of debt I say like John shouting from the wilderness. Getting out of debt is the key to most Americans. Most arei in debt up to their eyeballs and are clueless as to how to manage money as it is the me and the now generation. Do not be a slave to the lender! The gov, Obama, wants us to tighten our belts but Obama and his ilk have no clue how to do this themselves? Hollow words to a lazy society leads to ruin ;(

Are we suckers or what?
Edit: Father Christmas does not exist, and neither does the Easter bunny.

Your God might not, you might want to change to mine, I obviously get better mileage.
I once promised God that if he got me out of a bit of mess I found myself in, involving a freak, a pair of pliers and a gun, I would do whatever he wanted from me. I ended up cleaning bed pans and proud to have done so.

Let us focus. This is not about religiosity, euthenasia or some other esoteric discussion of life but the dollar. I contend; A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man, which debt he proposes to pay off with your money and that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm and three or more is a congress.
Edit: Fantastic profile.

My parents bought everything with cash on the barrelhead. New house and new cars every few years included. "The borrower is a slave to the lender." I believer that is found somewhere in Proverbs. And wasn't it Shakespeare that said in Hamlet...Polonius' farewell to his son Laertes," Neither a borrower nor a lender be." We could change that to "Neither a borrower or a SPENDER". Buying things on time is partly to blame for inflation. People who get in debt and then declare bankruptcy is a concept that appalls me. Especially when they just go out and start spending again.

Using a credit card doesn't necessarily mean you don't have the cash to buy something. I use a credit card so I don't have to carry big wads of cash around with me in an over weight wallet.
My credit card itself is actually always in credit (which defies the object of a credit card I know, but I pay no charges apart from the monthly card rent), and is a means of paying without cash. What I buy with it is actually affordable and not beyond my means.
