If she isn't, will you learn something?

I dunno. Depends on his answer.
I already suspect that born-again Christians and several other types dont believe that we (Christians) are REQUIRED to help the poor. They simply look at them with a combination of scorn and pity, then look the other way.

Aren't so-called born-again Christians mostly an American thing? DG is English, I don't know if there are many BAC in England.

I thought they believed that they were required to help them, but were just hypocritical in their actions or contributed with a token gesture.

I want to write a post that gets a hundred recs even though it's crappier
than a Swedish diary in a Finnish-Mexican novel. Written in English.

Off topic insert:

"Born again" has become synonymous with a certain style/type/persona of christianity often extreme in its behaviours and doctrines in the US. In the UK it is similar but a lot less in the extreme imo. Certain extreme attitudes and behaviours exhibited by these groups is one of the reasons I am not involved with organised religion.

I believe 'born again' is simply the term for the mechanic of a spiritual rebirth as explained by Jesus in the NT. E.I to be a genetic member of a family you have to be born into it.

I'd like to get on a cruise ship and travel around the world, stopping at every important port-of-call. It's about 120 days long and upwards of 55 grand.
