@ponderable saidYou are an adamant supporter of the only pubescent feature of this website.

@ponderable saidNothing to do with any of this: I asked you if you had selective eye-sight, meaning you missed or ignored something I said.
I am myopic, but don't think that shows.
The reasoning (of my hypothetical thumb-downer) goes thus: Woodgirl reports her purse stolen, I resent that, so I give a thumb down. Would I give a thumb up I would say: Well done thief.
Edit: That is if people ask you a question and give the negation in the same course:
It was fine, wasn't it? (A "Yes" is ambigious)

@ponderable saidWhat do anonymous thumbs mean?
I am a supporter of thumbs being anonymous.
@woodgirl saidMy brother in law's friend stole a typewriter from me about 20 years ago. My brother in law felt bad about it. I hope his friend has saved up for a computer by now. I don't need the typewriter back.
Ever had anything stolen? I lost a car and a purse from my son’s pushchair many years ago.

@woodgirl saidAbout 15 years ago our housekeeper's sister filled-in for her for a week and stole a load of money from our home office and for some strange reason tried to hide it in my mother in law's house. She got found out. The money was retrieved.

@fmf saidI wonder how many people here even care?

@woodgirl saidI lived in a rented house with four other people - we all worked together at a restaurant and were all on the company softball team.
Ever had anything stolen? I lost a car and a purse from my son’s pushchair many years ago.
One summer night during a softball game someone put a cement block through our backyard picture window and stole thousands of dollars in stereo equipment (this is back in the 80's when cool kids had nice stereos).
Since we were all together at the same place - clearly it must have been someone we knew - and they knew we would not be there.
They left the cement block.
We couldn't exactly call the police (fingerprints?) as we were moving quite a bit of cannabis at the time (it was the restaurant business after all).
Nice eh?
