Happy 4th of July to our neighbors to the South! No one does it up bigger than you do on the 4th of July. Our 1 of July celebrations and Fire works are small compared to the show you all put on each year. Lets hope everything is back to close to Normal for today!

Too 'normal'.

There was a mass shooting at a July 4 parade in Highland Park, IL this morning.

6 dead, 31 injured was the last count I saw.

Sometimes I just want to scream at Americans, "Stop shooting each other, you damned idiots! That was not the intent of the 2d amendment; you were supposed to shoot the British."

I believe much of it is too many guns and they have gotten use to people dying everyday. Just another shooting Eh suzianne?

It's not just the guns, it's the threshold for using them in anger, which characterises America. Switzerland has guns in private hands too, but the Swiss don't shoot each other. They just shoot mountain goats.

The Americans as you know have a long history of fighting. First with France I believe then the British which I am sure you are aware of. They even tried to invade Canada once in the winter and weren't dressed properly many of them perished from the Cold. ( Now they defend us) Then there are all their Modern days wars which were all one sided.(exception Viet-Nam). Now many have Nukes so that has settled things down. Right now Russia is using that as a threat if NATO get involved too much in their war against Ukraine which they were going to take over in a week. How long has been now, many months I know for sure. We have many of the immigrants from there here in the Maritime Provinces and I understand will be in other areas of Canada also. We are really becoming a Multi cultural society.
