Originally posted by Joe FistNah you're crazy, best line from The Exorcist is when she's stabbing herself with the crucifix and yelling...well, you know what. 🙂
I know this for obvious reasons cannot be listed in the top 100 but I still think it is better than some on the current list. From the Exorcist:
"Did you see what she did? Your c*nting daughter!!!"
Oh my god, what about another famous Brando line:
"Go. Get the butter." from Last Tango In Paris
Sheeshness, freakin' list. Only thing I like about it is that Brando has two lines in the top three. Too bad they made Gone With The Wind before his time. He woulda rocked that "don't give a damn" line! 😀
Originally posted by Shiny KnightMan, you got that right. Another favorite quote from Unforgiven:
I didn't find it:
"Any man don't wanna get killed, better clear on out the back."
I'd like to switch that one with Gumps 'box of chocolates'.
Hell of a thing, killin' a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have
They didn't have one of my favorite lines....Dirty Harry: "Smith and Wesson and me," which comes a few lines and a number of gunshots prior to his more famous line of "Go ahead, make my day."
MAN: What you doing, pig-head sucker?
HARRY: Every day for the last ten years, Loretta there has been giving me a large black coffee. Today, she gives me a large black coffee --only it's got sugar in it. A lot of sugar. I just came back to complain. Now, you boys put those guns down.
MAN: [LAUGHS] Say what?
HARRY: Well, we're not just going to let you walk out of here.
MAN: Who is "we" sucker?
HARRY: Smith and Wesson and me.
Originally posted by Joe FistI've only just got around to reading this thread. And I've gotta say it's a list that could never satisfy everybody. Not a single quote from "Withnail" either. Didn't "We want the finest wines known to humanity. We won't them HERE and we want them NOW!!" come top of some movie quote poll not so long ago? Or anything by Uncle Monty, 🙂.
This list is lame. Oh yeah, I remember 33, 83??? And back to 98. That was higher up and more memorable than the "little dog" quote from Wizard of Oz? Sure.
However, as to number 98. I know at least four people who say this regularly. Admittedly all four of them are women, but obviously the line holds major appeal at some level. As does the movie, lol.
"Johnny, wait!" is also a popular line from that film. So a friend tells me. And I don't particularly like Footloose either. Just FYI.
Michael Caine in Goldmember saying how there were two things he couldn't stand in the world, one being prejudice or whatever "and the DUTCH!" was almost worth a mention. But not quite.
