Let's brainstorm a few dozen topics that might add life and interest to this centerpiece forum. Thank you, Sahuaro.

A vindication of patria potestas: why fathers should be able to legally disown their disobedient wives and children, sell them into slavery or kill them.

These recap posts have so much negativity condensed into one place that it makes me a sad panda.

Suzi, you may have finally identified the cause of this forum's gradual demise: "negativity" as the pervasive attitude.

All online forums have a mix of positive and negative attitudes resident within mature and immature contributors. It's highly unlikely that any online forum has remained viable for long with an imbalance skewed by negative/immature contributors.

"Note: Once posted these topic ideas become common property.

Even this non-controversial reminder received an indicative [0] [1] Thumbs Down within an hour or two of its posting.

This post of yours has already received [1] [1] one Thumbs Up and one Thumbs Down. Why? What's not to love about an objective Suzianne making an honest observation and/or a "sad panda". Negativity is like a permanent crease on human being's forehead; its owner no longer recognizes it for what it is and the permanent crease goes wherever the person goes.
