Originally posted by FurioustylesPretty powerful performance by the ABs though not perfect. Their passing was initially poor and they spilled a lot of chances. Yet, the scoreline of 30-13 was probably flattering to the Aussies. I don't think the ABs were great today but Aus have fallen away badly in recent weeks and were very poor. They badly miss Larkham - there's a poverty of backline ideas.
Hey....where is every1? π
Nehow go the ABs, give em' a taste o KIWI.
Kisseowa Heπ
We'll see next weekend in Perth - but I wouldn't be putting money down on SA's chances in Dunedin.
Originally posted by Tirau DanI wasn't watching him particularly but he got picked out badly in Cape Town. I didn't think the ref had a good game in general.
I have never seen so many dropped passes in an All Black backline.. shocking.
One thing though.. funny how McCaw didn't get pinged every five minutes... he certained pushed the line... did anyone notice it??
Originally posted by buffalobillYeah, good for SA he gave those 2 shocking knock-on decisions in the 1st half - otherwise the ABs would have gotten the bonus point for sure.

I thought they would really go for the 4 tries, but they seemed to give the aussies too much credit.
The wallabies definately miss Larkham, their backline looks very one dimesional without him. Gregan also looked ordinary - maybe he's getting too old.
Drew Mitchell really impressed - man that guy is quick.
Originally posted by buffalobillAnd again - a week later, we can say the same thing. Mr. Rolland did not have a good game, but I won't even go there - otherwise I'll just be a whining Bok supporter again... at least his mistakes hadn't cost us the game...
I didn't think the ref had a good game in general.
Breyton is out for 3 weeks for 'kicking' AL Baxter. Gmpf, that fatass needed a proper kick for taking Breyton out and then holding on. The game's administrators are getting soft. I think it's a blessing in diguise though - Paulse is not the wing he was a seasons ago.
We need more Bryan Habanas. Now that guy has pace! We havern't seen SA wings that back their pace against opposition in ages. Man, he and De Villiers are the best things to happen to SA rugby in 5 years!
Ricky January had a great game again - he really gets up in opposition faces. The forwards did their bit, but their wasn't really any big highlights except Bryan getting those 2 beautiful tries on counter attack.
The Aussies only had the upper hand for about 15 minutes in the 2nd half and the score is really flattering to them. We threw away at least 2 easy try scoring opportunities and Percy wasn't kicking well.
Bring on the All Blacks!
Saturday is basicaly the final of the TN.
If we win - we get the trophy.
If the kiwis beat us - which I don't think is likely, the way we're playing - they just have to beat the wallabies to win the competition.
Should be an interesting game.
I wonder how the kiwis will do without a recognised flyhalf and goal kicker?
All the games have been close affairs decided with kicks this season, Henry is taking a big chance...

What a game.. nice to take the points.
It was a powerful game with lots of everything. The abs scrum was amazing...smashed the bokke. Still think the Abs made a lot of stupid errors and are on the improvement curve. Bring on the Aussies...it's gonna be a bruiser.
Would love to see highlights of the fight in the stand.
Bump ...
It was wonderful waking this morning having dreamed of forwards advancingstrongly of green clad bodies. Though I woke three times when our guys tossed the ball away... but sweet peace returned when the nice little Frenchman puffed his flute's sweet tune "full time". The bubbly flowed (thats when I got up and went to the loo.)
A whole day and not one post from the SAs ... Cat got ya tongues.... or the ABs? π

For a while yesterday I thought we could win it but the ABs came on strongly when they had the chance in the last ten minutes. This is one of their great talents - turning the heat up when they smell the opportunity, Well done and yes, I'm disappointed. Final score: NZ 33 SA 27. It was a close run thing that was only decided in the last minutes, but a great game.
So, unless the Aussies come up with something special next weekend (which I doubt), the ABs will take the TN. For me, it's good to see the Boks back up there even though we lost.
Originally posted by buffalobillBoth the boks and the abs have come a long way. The Boks prob further than any. It is good to see the winning urgency return to the abs under Henry.. they haven't had it for years... it was the first time in ages I didn't see the heads go down near the end they kept pounding in time and time again. The abs must stop chucking those silly pop up passes in their own 22.. three times it cost them.

Even if we had lost it was a great and memorable game..the hardest for ages and brilliant spirit afterwards.
Some very interesting refereeing decisions again.
In the first 10 minutes the ABs were penalised for some strange transgresions, but then he made up for it by allowing the ABs to continue playing after a knock on by MacDonald and Joe Rokocoko scored his second try.
Very bad tackling is what really cost us the game though. The first half we gave away 2 tries where opponents just ran through 3 or 4 tackles from open play. Disgusting.
Under the high balls we weren't too good either and twice it cost us.
Not flawless performances by either side, but it turned out to be a thrilling match. You could see the pressure telling on both sides.
What was up with that haka the ABs did before the game?
Now we can only hope the waalabies can pull a family of rabbits out of a hat.
Next weekend you will only hear "Go ya good thang!" and "Waltzing Matilda" from my lips.
Kia ora folksπ
Alot of my friends & whanau got 2gether on Saturday night 2 watch the 'Little General' (Stacey Jones) play his last game 4 the Warriors.
U can imagine how hard it is 2 ask, convince....PLEAD (with a room full of staunch leagueys) 2 change the channel over 2 rugby.
Eventually I get my wish & got 2 see the very last try (scored by an AB forward, who it was I don't know?)
From there on in, it looked like the SAs were ready 2 upset. The last running play by the SAs (after the bomb) was awesome....it had every1 (that's right every1) glued 2 the plasma screen
I think the SAs ran 50-60metres on the fly, a pass here or a side-step there could of changed the outcome....'TU MEKE'
Nehow I have'nt seen the whole game yet, but will do this week sometime & oh by the way....the Warriors beat the sea eagles 22-20 π
The winning try was scored by the man himself, then he converted it....
what a fitting way 2 end his brilliant career with us.
Ladies & gentleman....'Stacey Jones' has left the building:'(
Go ABs....Giv' em' a taste a KIWIπ
