Originally posted by PolicestateI keep my laptop at my dining room table. It's a high table, so the chairs are about bar stool height. I can look at my sliding doors to the field behind my house. All I see is white snow, we get a lot here. I have music playing loudly and the acoustics in my house are excellent. I have a peaked ceiling and the kitchen, living room, dining room have no walls to separate them.
I sit on my sofa, laptop resting on a cushion. I look out of the window of my country cottage living room. I see a neighbours cottage, built in the local rustic brickwork, same as mine. I see the narrow quiet road which leads down to the church. Horses have left their deposits, but it adds to the country charm.
It got dark around an hour ago, and it is ...[text shortened]... ht orange shadow.
A beef joint roasts in the oven.
What fills your senses from where you sit?
I can still smell the dinner I cooked a while ago.

Sitting at my desk watching the first crack of dawn and the birds coming in to feed. I have a lot of the little guys this time of year. There isn't much for them to eat so I am like a saint to them. They come in groups. The snow birds (?) doves, cardinals, blue jays, and a mix of little guys of different clans. The snow is still deep so my dog (Misty) a Jack Russel and Beagle will get a tough workout on our walk. We are on a mountain side, so the walking is rugged at best. Enjoy your life. It won't last forever.
