@divegeester saidHey, funny you should say that... this song was on an album from the early nineties called, I think, Playing the Blues, with Robert Cray's 'Right Next Door' on it:
Very nice.
Hints of where Robert Cray got some influence.
@green-paladin saidI played that album (Strong Persuader) to death in the late 80s.

@sonhouse saidHe started playing here in Phoenix back in the '70s. He regularly came back here to do New Year's Eve shows for almost 35 years. I don't know when he bought a home here in Scottsdale but he split his time between here and Hawaii.
@Suzianne
I read he was born in Detroit and resided in Tampa, when did he show up in Arizona? We used to live in Scottsdale a long time ago, in the 1980's and I don't remember hearing about him then. But I see he has a BUNCH of albums and CD collections, one of them I see for 130 bucks for a 4 CD set, long list.
He's got that country western twang, but he crosses over into pop and rock fairly effortlessly.
@suzianne saidMust be nice, home in Scottsdale AND one in Hawaii! I can think of worse places to live😉 Scottsdale is a funny place, with all the native American farming squirting square miles of water on their crops so you get heat AND humidity in the area! Do they still farm like that today? Maricopa if I remember right.
