I thought it were Finnish when I listened to it. I think Estonian is quite closely related to Finnish, isn't it? Finnish is funny, too. 🙂
Thanks for the link! 🙂
Originally posted by jareyesI know, but Hungarian and Finnish are very different from each other - maybe it could be compared to English and Russian, which are both Indo-European languages, yet very different from each other. My guess is that Finnish and Estonian are more like Italian and Spanish or so. I would also guess that Estonian is even closer to Finnish than Sami. But that's only from listening to it, and seeing some words, so I may very well be wrong.

Originally posted by NordlysI concur... Hungarian is simply impossible, though I felt remotely familiar with Estonian after doing the crossover from Finnish and Finland. Yet the three of them belong to the same family.

Even my Estonian and Finnish acquaintances understand each other while none of them can exchange the simplest ideas with Hungarians -each in their native language.
Have you tried to learn some Russian so far? It's gorgeous yet a nightmare.

Kiitos, kaunis! 😛
Edit. Here you end up grasping some sidewalk Russian, want it or not; 400,000 out of a 1,500,000 population is Russian 🙁
