@divegeester saidi do not know what he said in full
Does anyone know what the guy actually said, in full?
i do know, from reporting of the event by reporters (hopefully), that he arrived attaired in a dress (a summer frock, pink with red birds depicted) and while discussing the film, "jaws", he also had several things to say about lgbtq individuals (unflattering), gay folks (also unflattering), and the apparent spherical "choice" of the earth (which obviously he would like to view as 'flat' )
he's just another old, fat, white man with stuff to say and there be a whole slew of folks who could care less about his opinions
hope this helps you to understand the situation
my fingers are tired
edit: removed typo
@rookie54 saidThanks rookie, I fully understand the situation and I understand that a lot of people are very upset about a “rant” by him.

Just trying to find out what his alleged “rant” actually was.
@eYe saidThe link is blocked; checked on two devices.

How odd.
@eYe saidThank you; I’m fully aware of what “social media” said about what was allegedly said, and I don’t doubt that some people were very upset at his alleged “rant” as all these accounts are calling it. Although I’m not clear on HOW they’ve become so upset if they haven’t seen or even read an exact transcript of it. So what I’m interested in is three things:
"Social media accounts of the event suggest that the trouble began when Dreyfuss started talking about his Nuts producer Barbra Streisand, calling her a “genius” but that women, in the commenter’s account of the event, “are so passive that’s why the movie sucked.” From there Dreyfuss apparently made disparaging remarks about the MeToo Movement, then “started down the road of how ...[text shortened]... oy instead of a girl.”

1) exactly what was said by Dreyfus in this “rant”
2) why there isn’t one video of it nor even an exact transcript of it, apparently anywhere. Despite there being videos of his bizarre behaviour leading up to it posted online.
3) how can so many people be so upset by something which they themselves haven’t actually heard.
It’s a fascinating example of online herd mentality.
@MartinS saidHe’s an independent wealthy shark researcher who was taken away by aliens back in the 70s and replaced by a silly person who is now enraging the world with secret words.
Who is this Drefuss character and who gives a flying fig about a comment he has made.
Will it change the world or the rules of chess?
What is becoming increasingly clear to me as I look into this is that Richard Dreyfuss is in a very poor state of mental health.
He has been suffering for years with bi-bipolar syndrome and Parkinson’s disease. Numerous reports of bizarre behaviour at public engagements and TV interviews; one in particular where he slipped down and half off of the armchair and instead of getting back up he just lay there while the interviewer took advantage and asked him questions about self abuse and incestuous thoughts. Added to that Dreyfuss has a long reputation of political controversy and anti-liberal misbehaviour, drink driving offences and has publicly admitted to addictions to drink and drugs.
So for me the bottom line in all this is; if you want to screen an old movie at your local cinema and invite one of the actors to attend and be interviewed, don’t invite a chronic mentality ill old man with drink and drug addictions and a history of inappropriate and offensive blurting. Do a little research.
"They caught A shark. Not THE shark."
- Matt Hooper (played by Dreyfuss in JAWS 1975)
@divegeester saidIt's like how people have agreed to say "the N-word" because actually saying the word is offensive in the extreme. No one is printing what he said because it was offensive enough the first time.

The idea is to not give these idiots a voice.
