Not true, check out Stone Brewery. They make a point to make fun of "wimpy american beers". Not sure how it would taste in Europe though as beer doesnt travel well. Heinaken is not very good here but i understand it very good in Europe, same with Guinness. But i agree "lite" beer is rediculous.

neither are, really. it always amazes me how heineken & guinness have so many fans. it almost makes me think those people don't even drink beer. heineken lacks character, and it definitely isn't that far from american beers. slap an american label on it and 99% of people wouldn't even notice. and although guinness has character to spare, it's simply because it tastes like someone used your beer as an ashtray.

i was in denver, coors lite land, watching people spending 6 or 7 bucks on a coors lite at a hockey game was criminal. i felt like slapping them.

Id like to agree with you on the king of beer thing!

Not for the reason you give tho, Bavaria is kinda like Heineken (not "Hienekin" huckle?😛 ), theres not that much taste to it. I also call these beers booze-beers Im not sure if this word combination makes sense but what i mean to say is that its beer that you can drink alot of, for example on a night out.

I like Hertog Jan alot. Brand is also good, just as Grolsch.
I have a preference for more stronger beers.

I guess the weak taste of Bavaria and Heineken explain why they do so good abroad lol

There are loads of different Bavarian beers! Which one you like best? How about Bamberg (Franconian, I suppose, but still Bavarian) Rauch Bier?

I prefer a Hefeweizen, though I've never compared different brands so I don't know if there is a huge difference.
