To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
One of my favorite phrases in the Bible is, " and it came to pass". 😉

I have yet to see a public forum anywhere (not just here) that hasn't descended rapidly from what was originally intended. The only realistic solution would be a very tightly and strictly enforced micromanagement policy. It needn't be draconian monitoring, but that's what it would look like to trolls and other malcontents... and it's possible misanthropes would feel unwelcome, and eventually give up and move to another site.

I'm guessing that there are many un-subs here unwilling to pay for the privilege of being constantly assaulted by drooling nincompoops. But it's up to the proprietors of sites like this one to weigh the pros and cons of what might be seen as excessive monitoring, and decide for themselves the most cost effective way of dealing with this problem.

State of flux. That's not the same as dying. I think you personify a thing. This forum is a thing, not tangable or with scent, just a concept really.
Meet ups, that's a different thing.
What happened to meeting up?
But the good news is we don't have to hang around the bad-smelling ones!
