Everyone I know who has a wii has either sold after a few months or it just sits on the shelf, rarely played. I think the wii is mostly hype. You can only play tennis and golf on it for so long before you need some real games. Long live playstation!
I admit that there is nothing better than a group of friends with lots of beer playing Wii sports but having to rearrange the furniture everytime you want a game gets to be a pain in the ass.
I have a PS3 and while I admit the games up to now haven't been up to scratch, the spec of the machine means that I will be able to play games on that for the next 10 years or so. I hungrily await MGS4.

Anyway, there's a "classic" controller you can use instead if you prefer.
I just bought an Xbox 360 Elite. I like it a lot, but I'm under no illusions regarding its flaws. Extended warranty, anyone? I like the games for the system, and there a lot of them. I just recently got back onto Xbox Live; they've beefed that service up a lot since I last used it with my original Xbox. I love being able to download expansions and extra content for games (like the 9 extra songs for Guitar Hero 2).
OTOH, I'll probably buy the Wii soon, too. Everyone I know who has it, loves it. What's not to like? Cheap, reliable, and inventive. If I could find one to buy.
The PS3 was and is a debacle of poor pricing and rushed design/manufacture. Sony's getting its ass kicked, and it deserves it. $600 for a glorified PC with faulty firmware and no games? Niiiiiiice. Maybe Sony will figure out how to get back in the game; I hope so, given their historical propensity to feature the coolest Japanese games on their system.
