@divegeester saidI'm quite sure that the UK men would have celebrated just as hard.
The post match scenes of the team celebrating is total uninhibited joy, it’s not the same in men’s football where the players are all multimillionaires.
The celebrations are not men or women.
But for British football.
This was needed. If not men, then women.
@mghrn55 saidIt’s not about men v women celebrating, it’s just the way these young women express their joy in such a natural way. They are yet unspoilt by money.

@divegeester saidI'd say the Italians celebrated Euro 2020 in the same way, in the same stadium. When it's for your country it's just for the joy.

Like the Ryder cup or world series.
@trev33 saidI don’t mean to overstate it, and maybe it is a nuanced thing.

But for me these girls expressed an unbridled joy I’ve not seen in men’s football in recent years.
I just wonder if being a multimillionaire takes the edge off.

@divegeester saidI think a lot of of was relief, they had a lot of pressure on them and a favorable run in with extra days rest. It wasn't a great match but you do have to congratulate them in winning the Euros for the first time.

@divegeester saidAgree. See it at club level a lot. Chumps are on £100k per week and can hardly be bothered sometimes.

@trev33 saidI don’t think any of it was “relief” and I disagree, it was a great match.

But yes, those girls do deserve our congratulations.
