I’m thinking something like this?

- O - CUTTER

TOPCUTTER perhaps? It’s a trench cutter.

It seems like some use the word "topcutter" for a router [meaning 1b in merriam Webster] ("Oberfräse" in German)

sorry, no answers above are correct,

Considered a utility(knife), and can be quite sharp

I'll leave the answer

BOXCUTTER

I'd never have got that. In my dictionary it's two words, although I've found an ad for a branded Boxcutter.

It’s great that more people are joining in but we need to remind ourselves to try to use words that can be found in a dictionary. Also, if it’s a 2 part word use a symbol in the clue to indicate this.

The thread creator should have given us some rules, but you and I could try to make some.
1. Word needs to be something found in a pocket dictionary, not a 2-million word one. That is, a word you would see in a daily newspaper.
2. Word needs to have a reasonable number of vowels, at least two.
3. Y should be shown if it is performing a vowel function, otherwise not.
4. Clue should be slightly off-centre, not just a literal definition. Puns, songs, etc. are suitable.

What do you think of these so far? Anything else?
