@a-unique-nickname saidOrly once years ago. Can’t remember very much about it tbh. Smaller is better, usually. I’ve only been through Marseille once; I was more shocked by the state of the city than the airport. Travel much less nowadays.
I don't remember it being that bad but I was just connecting. Nice was fine... The other 'paris' airport was grand as far as I can remember. You've probably far more French airport experience though.

I don't even know if we have that in Canada, perhaps GBS may know, he travels more than I do.
