Yes, but in perspective "loud music" is little more than a lightfoot attack of some mice brigade.
Stick around and prepare for the charge of invisible elephants. They're already on the horizon.

Maybe you're not wanting it enough.
Also, since wishing is not having, and wishing is acknowledging you miss something, if you must wish to be happy, you will not be it.

For instance, if my happiness is based upon the next thing, I would submit that my thinking is wrong. Not to get too spiritual about it, but this is one of the main errors of many Christians. They believe that all of the perceived pain they endure in this life will somehow be 'avenged' or rewarded by the next life. What a miserable way to live, as well as at complete odds with the stated mission of the Bible.
If I am not happy right here, right now--- regardless of my circumstances--- I don't see how I would be happy for any length of time in any situation.

Yes, desire which prompts action which makes you content. The problem is, action does not mean result. Again, there are external factors which you just can't influence or change or alter no matter how much you wish or do about it.
As for christians I don't really care, but I guess if their belief makes them happy, then why not let them keep believing.
You finish saying that
If I am not happy right here, right now--- regardless of my circumstances--- I don't see how I would be happy for any length of time in any situation.
about which I couldn't agree more.
