145 is 1 in 10000 and called genius so in a million people you have 100 geniuses and that means in Germany (pop. 80 000 000) there jog arounf 800 in the USA (pop. around 300 000 000) this will be 3 000 and in China (pop. 1 300 000 000) nthey have 13000 geniuses.
The post that was quoted here has been removedThen maybe we are talking about different measure systems.. In test I was taking 148 meant 2 percent.
Quote from mensa.org :
How do I qualify for Mensa?
Membership in Mensa is open to persons who have attained a score within the upper two percent of the general population on an approved intelligence test that has been properly administered and supervised. There is no other qualification or disqualification for membership eligibility.
The term "IQ score" is widely used but poorly defined. There are a large number of tests with different scales. The result on one test of 132 can be the same as a score 148 on another test. Some intelligence tests don't use IQ scores at all. Mensa has set a percentile as cutoff to avoid this confusion. Candidates for membership in Mensa must achieve a score at or above the 98th percentile on a standard test of intelligence (a score that is greater than or equal to that achieved by 98 percent of the general population taking the test).

EDIT: ok, Mike - i believe yours.😛

IQ tests don't test your Intelligence, they test your ability to take IQ tests. For example: I have a very good friend who is currently doing a phd in chemistry at a very well respected university who have actually paid him to move from Ireland to America to do said doctorate.....
He is most definitely smarter than me. However on any IQ test we've ever take ...[text shortened]... t time I took one I was in the region of 140. He's often landed below the average mark......
