Shurely IQ is age dependant? Pls don't tell me it never changes?

I was tested when I took my governors' test to enter school, by Mensa, and it was 127 at 11.

I was tested after Uni and it was 156.

As a designer and engineer then maybe my concept of seeing things, like the silly images and mathematical crap they show, assuming the tests are like they were 20 yrs ago, is much more 3D and not flat??

Likewise, I am terrible with money and general day to day stuff. Not to say I can't cook or use a washing machine - but orderly fashion, as I perceive others have and I don't.

How does an IQ test measure that?? As far as I see it, it's all a load of nonsensical BS numbers! 🙁🙁

And I ignore the begging letters from Mensa asking me to join too!! I hope you all do the same! 😏😏

did you ever work with Chuck Barris? (host of The Gong Show)

from Wikipedia:

In his "unauthorized autobiography" Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, originally published in 1984, Barris claimed to have worked for the Central Intelligence Agency as an assassin in the 1960s and the 1970s. In interviews, when asked about whether he was really a CIA operative, he tends neither to confirm nor deny it. In 2002, a film adaptation of the book was made. Directed by George Clooney and starring Sam Rockwell, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind depicted Barris as being responsible for 33 killings. In 2004, Barris wrote a sequel to the book called Bad Grass Never Dies.

IQ is a lot of things dependent one of them being age. I think you're right in you're attitude regarding IQ and it's value. 🙂

Feynman was asked to join a IQ society but said he couldn't do it because the only time he got his IQ measured it was something like 120 something. If I can find that story I'll post it. The rest of the day he made fun of people joining those societies and the type of attitude they might have just because of a number.

Most people that actually do IQ tests and work on cognitive related areas know what the true values of IQ's are, and don't give much attention to them but say that there is a positive correlation between high IQ and academic carreers. I think we all agree with that but normally people with IQ results are the most extremist and see that as an objective measure of inteligence and sucess.

I would love to stay away from the IQ wars that time from time resurface on this forum but your post was too good to ignore.

Good old Feynman - did you know he's my hero (well one of them).
