I know the majority of yours are not Latin American, much less Mexican, but the presidential elections at my country are today: Mexico. And I would like to know those who know about that and what you consider with regard to this matter.

Like antecedent:

In the Elections for presidency in Mexico of 2000 the political party that had governed Mexico for over 75 years was unseated and with this Mexico start a new democratic period in his history. Now 6 years after we are living the more talked-over elections of the whole history and with a favorite left-wing candidate.

Please, tell me your opinion of this, if you know something with regard to this matter or not, etc.

Thank you very much.

For the well-being of all.

EDIT!!

(ranting, ranting, ranting)

Briefing:

* Democracy in Mexico is a joke.

* If the right wins again, the country is doomed and the rich will get richer, while the poor get poorer, Bolivia-style.

* The country survives thanks to (a) oil, (b) dollars sent from mexicans in the U.S. and (c) drug trafficking. Period.

* The only possible change is a revolution. Period.

* Monterrey is NOT Mexico. Period.

Yeah! And he would wipe from the face of earth those arrogant, corrupt businessmen and politicians that intoxicate the country and keep pushing millions through the border...

Yeah, if I were a president I would be embarrassed if people were willing to die for the opportunity to leave my country.

So who won the election?

Hard to tell, reader. I am far away to see closely but the exit polls show a difference less than 1% between the leftwing and the rightwing, according to the untrustworthy electoral authority.

If the fraud is consumated, there may be violence, and if in any way the rightwing official party wins, people will keep jumping the borders to escape the misery.

... I will be an expat for life, it seems. I am not willing to return to a doomed country full of corruption and crime, where the few ones that have resources build it on the backs of millions of poor.

I am so willing for the country to be invaded or be like Puerto Rico, or a colony of Europe. I don't care. My people have no guts to fight for their rights.

Vox populi joke "God was creating the world and He started putting lots of waterfalls, beautiful beaches, jungles, resources and richness in Mexico, when suddenly an angel replied 'but Lord, you are exaggerating with all those blessings' and the Lord replied 'don't worry, I'll put the Mexicans there for some balance'

I thought Mexico had a radical left-wing poltical party.
Aren't they participating in the elections?
Why not join them and start a revolution!

Not at all, the right wingers are heavily funded and supported by the small bunch of zillionaires the country has (typical of the colonial third world). It is hard to beat them with 24/7 TV support they have, plus taking into account the conditions of ignorance and postration in which the majority is, mainly in the center and south of the country.

the left wingers, without a lot of money, were able to compete in this one with massive popular support (including part of the army)... and that's the point in which things are right now. Less than 1% of diference, exit polls showing victory for the leftwing and the TV duopoly yelling in the screens that "anything can happen"

I trully, trully hope the leftwing candidate wins or the revolution to start, sincerely.

P.S. Many "educated Mexicans" of the North will tell you I am lying... they are "juniors" or part of the few priviledged ones who can live in safe high-wall areas or go to fancy universities. Northern Mexico is NOT Mexico. Go south and see exploitation and misery, Africa-like.

And the North is bad enough that they should vote the rethuglicans out. It's a great Country with great people with the Majority living in horror. Mexico deserves better.

Must be the day for it, as hopelessness has set in here too.
