Well it looks as if Sarah Palin who is governer of Alaska is now McCains running mate. It all makes sense to me, he is going after Hillary supporters. Additionally, he has made sure he is breaking the mold as well as his opponent in the sense that we will either have the first black president or first woman vice president. Most importantly, however, she's kind of cute. If nothing else she will be some eye candy for the old man.

Edit: You know it does not help Obama when McCain runs sound bites of Hillary attacking Obama by saying she thinks McCain is a better leader than himself. Does anyone think Hillary supporters will jump ship?

Some will, but then a lot of conservatives may bail on McCain as well.

I am floored at the stupidity of the pick. For a candidate who has age concerns, he goes and picks a young woman who has been governor of her state for less than 2 years. And that state is Alaska?! No national experience at all. No international experience at all. She's under investigation. Ted Stevens (of "Bridge to Nowhere" fame) indicted, a senator from the same tiny state (people will wonder if she was involved). And to top it off, she's basically a complete unknown, even to many in her own party. I've read that in an interview Kay Baily Hutchison was awkwardly trying to talk her up while Hutchison has never actually met Palin. (Why the hell didn't he pick Hutchison anyway if he wanted a woman?)

From what I've read (which is not much) she seems a decent person but a potential POTUS she is not.

In fact, her youth and attractiveness will, unfortunately for McCain, only accentuate his age and compound his problem.

mccain is going to lose tons of independents. she has a scandal going now that looks like it cant be proved false.
mccain is going after hillarys and the religious people.. but its just not going to work. the GOPs plan seems to always be to find the biggest weakness in their opponent and continually attack that, and now they cant even attack obamas exp. utter failure

Some have already.😉

I think it is a good pick considering Alaska is one state that does not issue permits to carry concealed nor openly. They do not require you to have a permit to do so. This is a good step for him if he is to get votes from gun owners.

you just dont get it. her main experience is mayor of a town of 5,000. then shes been doing the whole state of alaska for a under 2 years. (ive lived there for a dozen, so i kind of get it)

old P + novice VP = ... ?

there is no "issue" theyre trying to get with her. they just want to win hillary supporters. the pick is being laughed at by both sides right now. GOPs are trying to defend the pick already (this is not a good sign, was anyone in the defensive with biden?)

she also is under investigation, not a good sign
but if you like her great, just know there was a woman from texas mccain could of picked if he really wanted to win.

I am not sure if I do like her, I have not had time to research her. I was only pointing out the fact she is from a state that is gun owner friendly nothing more. I didn't say there was any 'issue' with her or not. I was saying that the state does not issue permits, it does not require them. This would be a plus for gun owners, however, I will do some research on her and find out if she is someone I like. Even if she is, I still don't think I will be voting for McCain, I am most likely going to be sticking with voting for Bob Barr.

i didnt mean issue like problem (although she is under investigation for firing someone for personal gain) i meant issues as in the election topics (war, economy, gay marrige etc.)

but yes, i may have responded too hasty to your comment. im a sorry., 🙁
and barr seems like an ok guy.. seems like more people should be voting that way than actually are.
