NOONE GIVE ME ACTUAL LINES ON THIS OPENING. I AM IN A GAME WITH IH8SENS USING THIS OPENING.
that said, why is any info on this opening so hard to find?
the only GM with any online information about it is Lev Alburt.
And you can't find ANYTHING if it's not his 4. ... g6 line in the Modern Variation. Chess games is ok, but actual human commentary helps me better.
Just stay away from the message board. It got infested with spam 🙁

But that didn't happen!!!!
I'm not trying to say that I won, Im saying I caught my mistake just after making it, and that it cost me the game...
for me its a step up from being told where my mistake was every single time...
of course ih8sens will tell you that my mistake came on move one...
Originally posted by rubberjaw30Correct. The alekhine's defense is an opening I'm working on now with my engines (just finished the traxler gambit). I'm of the opinion that it is very flawed, though I have absolutely no evidence to back that up at this point 😛. The traxler (after Nx for the fork) appears to be perfecty sound.

without taking anything away from your win, which you earned entirely, I'm just trying something different.
Caro-Kann is too drawish, and I want something that doesn't always simplify straight down to a draw every time (as does main line Kann).
I want something sharper (without ever touching 1. ... e5 Ruy Lopez scares me to death) I'm willing to try the Sicilian if it comes to that, or even the French.
But for now, the Sicilian can get really complex (more complex, maybe, than what I'm wanting) and the French is just blegh.
Alekhine's looked worth a try, so I'm trying it.
who knows, maybe I'll give the Latvian Gambit a shot before doing Sicilian
😉

no gambit is sound...
a gambit just offers complications that the gambiteer hopes to solve before his opponent

A gambit is an unsolved position involving the sacrifice of material for a non material benefit... that's what makes the QG a 'fake' gambit.

wrong.

A gambit is simply an unsolved position of complexities (In the King's Gambit Accepted, for example, the complexity comes from White's large space advantage)
