Many thousands of composers begin young. How do you explain the difference between Mozart and the majority of this crowd, without natural ability?
While it's well known that Mozart began composing before he was six years old, what's less well known is that none of his early stuff was any good. He didn't write a great work until he was 16 and had been composing practically his whole life.
Someone has suggested that most geniuses are just talented people who get up really early in the morning...there's probably a bit of truth to that.
I've also read somewhere that most "geniuses" don't produce their best work (i.e. their masterpieces) until they toiled for at least 10 years... they give the example of Paul McCartney, who started writing music at 13 and wrote "Yesterday", considered his masterpiece, at 23. That's what I mean when I said that Mozart just kept at it...
Mozart, like the Beatles, (a) knew the right time and place to be born and (b) worked harder than anyone else.
In chess, at least in most cases, in order to become a GM, one would have to (a) start a good study program at a relatively early age, and (b) work very hard!
Natural ability certainly helps, but it's probably more hard work than anything else... I'm sure all GMs have a unique mixture of natural ability and the amount of hard work and study they had to undergo in order to get where they are...

if he didn't return and do the goose step. He chose to ...[text shortened]... id "jump" he was already in the air
saying "is this high enough"?
I know a few players who have been playing since they were kids, trained with masters from an early age but still not made it to Grandmaster level.
That's why there are only 400 or so in the world.
Ps people were already talking about Kasparov when he was 9, he had something the rest didn't.
