O.K. Let us start at the beginning. This is how I would play a email game. 1.e4 e6. The French Defense is what my foe wants. Data base on. number one main lines most often played moves by the super GMs. Huum. 2. d4 is a move I like. d5. O.K. 3. Nc3 Nd2 or e5 or do I feel lucky enough to try something else? No. I will play ? Ja 3. Nc3 Bb4 4. e5 c5 5. a3 B.c3 6. b.c3 Ne7 7. Qg4 g6. What kind of a move is 7. ...g6? 8. Bg5 is the only move my data base has. h5. Well we are out of the book. Time to play and win. Well maybe. If you have a book or a data base use it to play the main lines for a text book opening. If not then Use key word search "chess openings" ect. and look for some kind of a start. When it is all said and done you are going to have too play the game yourself. A data base will at least get you started accurately. P.S. super GMs to me are players like Fischer, Tal, Botvinnik, Spassky ect. A data base will go to 4 to 12 pluss moves.
