i love it... i give commentary on my annotated games against a machine...super chess player.... and nobody is interested.
i offer a 2500 game DB on an unfamiliar opening for CC players...
interested...
so your sarcasm or irony or whatever you call it doesn't work here.
and I take my interest back.

Or tmetzler...
What attracted me was the similarity to the Dutch Defence with black. I have played the Dutch for quite a while now, and it suits me very well, so I thought I'd give the Bird a try, too. Another advantage is that very likely your opponent won't be very familiar with it.

thanks! I've played leningrad as white for quite some time, but never really got around to working out the regular bird lines, so this really comes in handy.
🙂
if you like irregular openings in general... i have some other DB's that are similar...
like the sokolsky, wolga-benko gambit...
the sokolsky i only have like 500 something games of, the wolga-benko gambit however... i have over 2,000 of as well.
if their is interest in any of these...let me know 😀
Originally posted by Adoreaoh no, it's not that. I just feel very comfortable in the leningrad setup. and the regular bird lines often come in very handy after early ...Nc6, where I like to play e3-Bb5 instead of my regular g3 reverse leningrad, and exchange on c6 doubling the pawn. I get a nice position from that, but I have trouble using my advantages. so I'm hoping these regular bird lines will give me additional understanding of those positions.
no problemo

If ...e5 ...d6, don't take the second gambit pawn. Unless, of course, you expect divine intervention

Something I'd just like to say before I get into it, is that 1.f4 can be very playabale of course... but for some reason (speculative intuition) I think that leaving f4 as a move played later in the game can be a pretty effective pawn break, opening up lines for attack. But that might just be from my style of play. I guess if you play 1.f4 then another pawn becomes the break pawn.
